Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi
Thanks for your query.
Your daughter is having urinary infection and it takes 24 to 48 hours for antibiotic to act.
Do not worry, continue with medication as advised, for fever give paracetamol 6 hourly till fever is above100F.
Give plenty of fluids, fruit juices, glucose water, coconut water and simple bland diet to maintain proper hydration and nutrition.
If symptoms persist, get her re evaluated by your pediatrician for further management.

Wishing your child good health.
God bless.

Hi Das,
Thank you for your query,
You continue the medication as advised by your Pediatrician for urinary tract infection.
Fever will take time to subside completely as the antibiotic course to control the infection is usually for 1 week to 10 days.
The response to antibiotic will be seen within 3 to 5 days.
Continue paracetamol for fever and try to give plenty of oral fluids.
If the fever is not decreased after 3 days, you can consult your doctor again for reassessment.
Hope I have answered your query.

hi

thanks for writing to health care magic

was your baby crying while passing urine or was she shaving increased frequency of urination..... These are the diagnostic indicators to suspect urinary infection in a baby

was your baby feeding normal.........is she active between fever episodes..............there are certain danger signs that one should be worried about in this age group in the presence of which a urgent consultation is very much indicated.

they are poor feeding, vomiting, loss of consiousness or seizures. one should be watchful of these.

I think you should consult your pediatrician once again

hope this helps
take care
