Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have my right cheek swollen do to an rootcanal that's what's done wrong when to the dentist and they gave me medicine for the swollen im mtaking amoxicillin I don't have a old or anything like that my question is if I could smoke weed would that be a problem
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it seems that you have developed a dental abscess due to recurring infection in the root canal treated tooth and there is infection and pus accumulation below the root tips of the tooth.. Smoking can lead to increase in inflammation due to heat and chemicals and can however increase pain as well as swelling.. It will also delay the healing process.. Therefore you should avoid smoking.. Other thing is that only antibiotics will not b able to provide complete relief, therefore you should consult an Endodontist and get evaluated and a re-root canal treatment or extraction can help in resolution..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
