My boyfriend had a similar problem and he was treated with a course of antibiotics.
what do you think we should do, the antibiotics are not working and the pain is getting much worse?
prostatitis is difficult to treat and needs a lot of patience as the medications reaching the site of infection is very less compared to the infection, further high doses of medication cannot be given as it is determential on other organs. so it is a slow and steady treatment. this is what i have learnt from my prostate infection. further i dont know why you want to get the PSA test done is there any reason you think it should be done ?
Yes i think the PSA test should be done to determine if the infection is getting worse or if there is a possibility of cancer there. Further we have had another ct scan done, the first one was on the 16th of this month, we had another done last nite at the ER and the prostate was at 5 cm on the 16th but is now grown to 8 cm as of last nite. Something needs to be done, they keep telling us that there is nothing wrong with him.
when doctors tell there is nothing wrong and things will settle over time you feel something needs to be done. what is that some thing you wish to do that doctors cannot do?
