Suggest Remedy For Sleeplessness.

Hi Doc
My grandmother's age is 75+, she sleeps very less. So what kind of food should we give it ot her which helps her in her sleep. or is there any light dose of any tablet which we can give for her sleep.Pls suggest.
Pls tell us the precations as well for the same.

Hello,

she can try 0.25-0.5 mg clonazepam. if this works, good...but if dosent and she needs something better --then try zolpidem. 12.5mg & later reduce to 6.25 mg. Take care that she should not roam around after taking the meds( as she might fall and suffer bony injury.).accompany her to toilet if she needs to ( after taking pills) at night.
these two are ok for this age .
she should avoid taking a nap in daytime! as it would reduce night sleep efficacy.
