General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Symptomatic gall stones need careful evaluation by the surgeon and he is the one who decides the best treatment option for the same. As you said the pain is increasing on every attack.

My advice to you is, see your doctor as soon as possible. You might have to get another ultrasound abdomen done if your doctor asks for it.

Depending on your condition after overall evaluation, your surgeon will suggest you whether surgery is necessary at this point for you or not.

As sometimes there are complications assosciated with the gall stones if not treated appropriately (surgical removal) and in time.

These days laparoscopic removal is performed easily by well-trained doctors and there is only minimal stay in the hospital with least or no complications involved.

So if you are afraid of surgery, you can have a talk with your doctor and get your doubts cleared.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Manisha Auradkar, General & Family Physician
