Suggest Treatment For Histiocytosis With Massive Lymphadenopathy

I have previously been diagnosed with histiocytosis with massive lymphadenopathy. I have also recently had open heart surgery to replace my mitral valve as well as repair my tricuspid leak. My question is, could all my symptoms be related or is each separate? If related what else will I have to look forward to having to deal with in my life as I am only 38 and hopefully have many more years to irritate my children?

Hello,

Histiocytosis with massive lymph-adenopathy is usually a benign condition. It requires clinical follow up. Mitral valve disease is unlikely to be associated with sinus histiocytosis.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
