my 11 month old son had double inguinal hernia surgery when he was about 2 months old. he is now having problems with it coming out and going back in again...but never staying out long enough to get to the hospitol. it has left his penis bruised and he screams in pain. i have called all the clinics and childrens hosptol all saying the same thing. bring him in when its out.....but if its out put him in warm water to relax it back in.....he is in pain and if affects his sleep. what do we do?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood the concerns. Noted the your son is 11 months old and had bilateral hernia surgery. As per the history that you have given, it seems that there is recurrence of the hernias. If there is a recurrence, there is a need of surgery. Hence Consult the Pediatric Surgeon who has operated your son for clinical evaluation, examination and get a plan for further management. Since there is pain and bruised penis means the hernial sac has pushed through with force may be due to any violent act like sneezing or coughing. Consult a Doctor as soon as possible and get anti-inflammatory medications if required.
