Can Mismanagement Of The Radiologist Develop Anaphylaxis?
Hello, I have a 15 year old daughter who has just done a MRI with gadolinium contrast . She immediately developed anaphylaxis . How do I find out if it is the mismanagement of the radiologist? Thank you. Jane. My email address is YYYY@YYYY
Hi and Welcome to HCM, This is not the mismanagement of the radiologist. Allergic or anaphylactic reactions to gadolinium contrast medium have occurred but are extremely rare. Difficulty breathing and swelling of the lips and mouth, occur in about 1 in every 10,000 people who have gadolinium. Emergency drug treatment reactions generally respond very well. Nothing to worry.
Wish you speedy recovery
Thank you
