Dr Jitendra Kumar Singh is the Director of S S Hospital & Research Centre, Patna, Bihar. As a Cancer Specialist, he is the moving spirit behind not only the Mahavir Cancer Sansthan but also the campaign against the dreaded disease in Bihar and entire eastern region. Dr. Singh has been playing a pioneering role in teaching and research in the field of cancer. By dint of his untiring efforts and managerial skill Dr. Singh has made not only the Mahavir Cancer Sansthan a unique cancer hospital and research centre in Bihar and Jharkhand but also in whole eastern region. Now the people suffering from this dreaded disease are not required to move outside for quality and accurate treatment. Rather Dr. Singhâs efforts have made cancer treatment less costly and affordable even for the poor. He is the main person for campaigning about the cancer awareness, education & Tobacco Cessation Programme in Eastern India.
