I have personally performed more than Ten Thousand surgeries, including Phaco, Vitreo-retinal & Epilasik surgeries, and have developed T C Eye Centre ( www.tceye.com ) as a Referral centre for advanced ophthalmic treatment & surgery, receiving patients from India & abroad.

1.     First to install Hi Rez digital Imaging System in India, and the first anywhere in the World, to install & use digital 3D viewing system on a Topcon Imaging system.
2.     The first study ever done, of quality, application & feasibility of Low Dose Fluorescein Angiography in digital imaging systems. (Paper presented at SERI ARVO in Singapore 2005.) This study is changing the way angiography is being done in several centres. Have been invited to several conferences to present this work.
3.     First study in India of “Use of Cyclosporine in the management of Allergic Conjunctivitis” Paper presented at Bhopal AIOS 2005.
4.     First to use LONG TERM PFCL (Fluoron) in India.
5.     First to use SHORT TERM PFCL in North India.
6.     First to perform TTT & ICG Enhanced TTT for ARMD in the State.
7.     First to use Avastin for management of ARMD in the State.
8.     Pioneered Epilasik /LASEK treatment (instead of the standard Lasik) for Myopia correction in the state.
9.     First in India to introduce the concept of Stereo Disc Photography as a routine adjunct to field charting, in all patients undergoing field analysis. This was started several years before the era of OCT & GDX.
10.     Designed a Hi Resolution Slit Lamp photography system, making it affordable for every ophthalmologist to document their findings. This has cut the cost of slit lamp photography systems to about 1/10th. Invited in several conferences for presenting this.
11.     Developed a new Air insufflator system for Phacoemulsification machines, for improving chamber stability. Spoken in several conferences on this.
12.     Developed New Visual Acuity & Contrast Sensitivity charts, based on new scientific guidelines. These digital charts have proven to be simple, reproducible & far more accurate, than the existing printed ETDRS charts. The High Test Retest reliability of these charts has been amply proven. Invited at Several State & National Society meetings for presenting this.
13.     Invited as faculty in several State & National level conferences. Have Presented original research papers in State, National & International conferences.
14.     Served as secretary & academic secretary for several years in the local ophthalmologists’ society & on academic panel of the state ophthalmic society.


Research & Development :
Took the first private initiative in North India to establish own research group in ophthalmology to promote and assist research in ophthalmology. Established the “Ophthalmic Research Group” for promotion of research activities. The group has its own Steering Committee with some of the most respected names in India being on its panel, & its own Ethics Committee.

Teaching & Academic Promotion :
Have started training program in Optometry, enabling young people to be self dependent & helping them find suitable employment in the private sector itself. Our optometrists are in high demand in the Ophthalmic community, due to their high level of skills. We are also developing multimedia based teaching programs for the students – the like of which does not exist in North India to the best of our knowledge.
