65 Year Old Male, Heart Condition, Fever, Chills, Joint Pain. Raised CRP, Chronic Condition. History Of Arthritis. Treatment For Rheumatoid Arthritis ?
Question: male 65 heart disease,6ft 170 attacks of fever,chills lower joint pain sed rate 63,crp 120. this has been ongoing for a yr.Currently arhritis doc thinks early ra, and trying to treat.
these attacks always happen from 3-5 in afternoon

Pain in lower joints with raised crp and esr along with fever might be due to arthritis.
It could be rheumatoid arthritis, gout, osteoarthritis, inflammatory diseases like SLE, bursitis, fibromyalgia, etc. For proper diagnosis, some of the blood tests are advisable like-
1. Serum calcium levels.
2. Serum Uric acid levels.
3. RA factor
4. Serum Creatinine
5. X-ray of affected joints.
You need a thorough clinical examination followed by investigations under the guidance of an orthopedician.
Till then for symptomatic relief, you can take over the counter analgesics, do hot fomentation and apply local analgesic gel on the affected areas.
