Are Antidepressants Necessary While On Isotretinoin?

Question: Dear Doctor,
I am on isotretinoin 10mg as prescribed by my dermatologist. I have a couple of concerns and will be grateful for your views.
1. Is it necessary to take an antidepressant along with isotetinoin? I have been prescribed celexa. I am not at all depressed and am not keen on having this drug as it makes me sleepy among other side effects.
2. Is it safe to undergo dermarolling during this treatment?
Thanks a lot, doc!

Brief Answer:
No need of antidepressant, avoid dermaroller while on isotretinoin
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at healthcaremagic
There is no need to take any antidepressant while on isotretinoin if you are not depressed.
Regarding your second question dermaroller treatment should not be done while on isotretinoin.
It can be done at least 1-2 months after stopping isotretinoin.
I hope to have answered your queries and would be happy to clarify any further doubts.
