Are Swollen And Painful Lymph Glands In Neck And Groin Area Signs Of Lyme Disease?

default
Posted on Thu, 10 Mar 2016
Question: I have swollen lymph glands in my neck and groin area and my testicles hurt. My neck is also stiff. This started one week ago. The lymph glands were hurting after just 2 days. I went to my doctor, blood was taken and all results were negative. I was told that I have some kind of viral infection. The pain is not as bad as it was earlier. The swollen glands are about the same. I was told to take ibuprofen 3 times a day for the pain, and to let them know if the symptoms don't go away. I have never had this happen before. I am 61 years old and otherwise in perfect health. The doctor ruled out cancer, but we didn't discuss Lyme disease, although he did ask if I had a rash and he did a good exam. My blood pressure is only 102 over 64 and I only had one cold last year. My email is YYYY@YYYY .

Brief Answer:
Did you have a urine analysis? Are you urinating okay?

Detailed Answer:
Welcome to HCM: Please note that this could be orchitis due to a urinary tract infection, also a condition called EBV could be causing these symptoms and a specific lab test called Atypical/Monospot test should be checked. Do your testicles hurt all the time? and do you feel relief when they are raised? I as this as you need a testicular ultrasound and I beg to ask if you have urinary frequency, retention, urge to urinate all the time, dribbling, you may have a systemic infection that entered your body through your urine. I hope this helps, please provide some answers and we may be able to further help, thanks.
