Can Oxetol, Oleanz, Zolfresh, Glycomet, Frisium, Duzela And Lonazep Cause Infertility?
Question: Hi doc,
Greetings!!!
I have been taking the foll medications in the night for the past 8 years prescribed by a neuro...will this affect my ability to conceive???nowadays my body has developed resistance to these drugs as iam growing older..
Oxetol xr-600
Frissium 10mg
Oleanz 10m
Duzela 20
Lonazep MD 0.5 (SOS)
Zolfresh 10
Glycomet 850
Pls suggest can we discontinue these after sometime..

I have gone through your question and understand your concern.
These medications are used for seizures and sleep disorders associated with tension/anxiety .
The drugs have no significant effect on fertility but risk of congenital malformations is high with use of oxetol.
Folic acid supplementation is advised before conception.
Please upload other investigation and reports for a detailed assessment regarding continuation of drugs.
At this age conception problem may be due to secondary causes like hormonal imbalance.

Thq...I however am advised not to discontinue Oxetol...But mornin n night medications i hav been takin for the past 8 years..iam 34 years old right now..
Mornin sometimes i develop kinda vomitting sensation when i take the other prescribed medicines as below...iam taking liv52 DS as per doc advise.

Antiepileptics are usually prescribed for 2-3 years and in case of complete seizure control, drugs are gradually tapered and stopped.
Few cases needs prolonged treatment or life long therapy.
