Can Sucralfate Cause Calf Cramps Or Pain?
Question: I've been taking sacral fate for 2months and curious if its related to the terrible calf cramp that I've had for 3 days, that does not allow me to walk, and how do I treat this

Sucral fate is not known to cause calf cramaps or pain,it might be due to some other reason.
1) Muscle pain: Muscle pain or myalgia is a common cause and could be due to overuse of the muscles (mild trauma) or associated with the generalized aches and pain of an infection.
It can also happen due to side effect of medicines like statins.
Are you taking any medications simultaneously?
2) Muscle cramps: Muscles may cramp, causing significant pain. This may be due to a lack of stretching or an imbalance of electrolytes in the bloodstream.
You need to get your serum sodium, potassium, calcium and magnesium levels checked if symptoms are severe.
Usually the mild pain can be well controlled with proper medications in 2 or 3 days.
1) Oral muscle relaxants (like meberverine brand name:colospa) with pain killer (like ibuprofen) available over the counter.
2) Hot fomentation and
3) Some stretching exercises of the legs.
4) Take plenty of water with fruit juices added salt.(If you are not hypertensive)
5) Take coconut water and magnesium supplements.
If symptoms persists for more than 4 to 5 days then I woukld advise you to see local physician.
