Can A 6 Month Old Baby Be Weaned Off Breastmilk?
1. My daughter is six months old and takes feed from one side (breast) only. For how long we should feed her mother's feed? On every feed we have to give her top feed with Nan Pro 1
2. She is not taking top feed when she is awake. We have to make her sleep and then top feed her. She keeps crying and shouts as well as she is hungry but, she still doesn't take top feed while awake. What can we do in this case?
3. My wife has started cycling and tread mill (brisk walk only) for 20 min each for past 2 months and cross trainer for last 2-3 days (10 min). What else can she start now to help her in weight loss?
Regards,
XXXX
Start semi solids
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand the concerns.
1. Sometimes, the baby prefers to feed from one side only, and in this case, one should try to express the milk on the other side and feed the baby that milk. Mother's breastfeeding is advisable till 2 years of age.
2. Since she is 6 months old, it is better to start her on the complementary feeds like mashed fruits, boiled vegetables, XXXXXXX and khichdi. Milk alone will not provide for her nutrition.
With complementary feed, she should be given breast milk and there is no need to force top feeding if she doesn't prefers it.
3. She can do regular exercise, play games like lawn tennis and badminton for weight loss.
Hope you found the answer helpful.

Few more queries
1. As of now she was walking on tread mill, can she start running? Also, can she do crunches/abs and light weight lifting?
2. Since she is breast feeding, can she take alcohol sometimes? If yes, will it be ok to take breast feed for the baby?
Regards,
