Question: Hello Doctor, My daughter is 6 yrs old. She often gets boils in her mouth near the gums. It cures on its own most of the time. The frequency is more now and it pains a lot. The boil is pinkish white in color. Is there any medication for this? Is this a serious problem? Why the boils come? Please advise.
Brief Answer:
Infection needing antibiotics and pain killer
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for your query.
The primary reason for boils in 6 years old child is due to tooth decay. Her deciduous(Milk teeth) gets infected on and off, thus forms pus and swelling, leading to boils. Also due to self cleansing mechanism it drains on its own.
As, it is often seen in primary teeth, you do not have to worry ,but proper brushing and rinsing after each meal will reduce her problems.Good hygiene, analgesic and antibiotics is required.
