Why Do I Suffer From Sore Throat And Cough?

I woke up this morning with blood in my mouth that didn t appear to originare from my mouth (gums were not swollen or bleeding or from inside of cheeks or tongue). I had to gargle with water several times before it cleared and it was bright red. I have a slightly sore throat and was coughing during the night. Please advise as to what this could be.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It could be due to throat infection. I think it's better to consult with your physician as might require further diagnostic tests and prescription medicines.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
