Diabetic. Took More Lantus Than Required. Any Problem?
![default](/r/images/default.png)
Hello,
Welcome to XXXXXXX Thanks for your query.
Insulin Glargine(Lantus) is a long acting insulin and the duration of action is for 24 hrs.
The onset of action is 1 hr and it does not have any peak.
A over dose in relation to food and energy expenditure may lead to prolong and life threatening hypoglycemia.
Mild hypoglycemia can be treated with oral carbohydrates.
Adjustment in meal pattern and exercise may be needed.
In short consume more carbohydrate and do less physical activity for the next 24 hrs.
Hope the answer helps you.
