Do Anti-inflammatory Medication Cause Burning Sensation In Stomach And Dry Throat?

Question: I have discomfort in the stomach. I feel like sporadic burning sensations, like small pins and needles. My throat feels rather dry as though something is lodged there. Sometimes I get hunger pangs which is relieved by eating something. I also have itchy skin in my arms. I had been taking anti-inflammatory tablets for a gout problem recently. I was told that this may be the problem?
Brief Answer:
yes,it may have been gastritis induced by painkillers
Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.
It is known that nonsteroid painkillers can cause gastritis or worsen already present stomach issues. So in sensitive people it should always be combined with antiacid medicines such as ranital or nexium. So in you case, I would first stop taking painkillers and take antiacid for more 3 days. If symptoms persist you should do gastroscopy to rule out possible ulcer, hiatal hernia or some more serious diagnoses.
Till that, you should avoid alcohol, smoking, coffee and fried food, sleep with elevated upper body, avoid long sitting after meal. Wish you good health. Regards
