Does Amiodarone Cause Peripheral Neuropathy?

Question: can ameriodarone cause neuropathy in the legs? Don
Brief Answer:
Yes,amiodarone may cause neuropathy in about 10% patients.
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Welcome to HCM.
I understand your concern about peripheral neuropathy (neuropahty in legs)
Amiodarone is one of the most effective anti-arrhythmic agents, that can be used in arrhythmia produced by various areas of the heart muscle and works great even in a diseased heart.
There are no medications without "down-sides", and so does with amiodarone which may some times cause neuropathy in about 10% patients.
You may continue to take lyrica (pregabalin) for symptomatic relief in neuropathy.
I hope I was helpful and let me know if I can help you more.
