Does Grapefruit Interact With Metoprolol?
Question: Hello, I am taking Metoprolol for high blood pressure and My husband bought a dietary supplement called CL-X3 by Nucific... it contains CLA oil 1154mg- 805 CLA, then CLA 900mg,cis-9-trans 11 @ 344mg ,trans10 cis 12 @344mg,,other CLA isomers @31mg , Fucoxanthin extract @50mg, And Grapefruit seed extract @50mg.
I have heard that you shouldn't mix grapefruit with blood pressure medication and this supplement is to help weight loss but I am concerned about mixing that with my medication

Grapefruit has a low glycemic index and rich in potassium--so if you are on drugs for blood pressure that increase potassium levels, you have to be careful. With metoprolol there is no problem.
Secondly I am against poly- supplements. You never know what they can lead to.
Diet should be as far as possible only source of nutrients.
He should try to lose weight naturally with diet and exercise even if it takes time.
You can revert back.
