Question : does spironolactone produce a side effect of hives?
Brief Answer:
Possible allergy
Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.
This is not common side effect of spironolacton but it may be allergic reaction to spironolacton or to some other allergenes such as certain food or substances. I suggest to stop spironolacton for 48 hours in consultation with your doctor and see what happens. Also, you can apply antiallergic cream or take antihistaminics if hives progress. Wish you good health. Regards
