Does Intake Of Zolpidem, Liothyronine, Levothyroxine, Hydrocortisone And Diazepam Cause Tinnitus?
none of them does...
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
zolpidem, liothyronine, levothyroxine, hydrocortisone and diazepam are not supposed to cause tinnitus, at least not directly. This means that tinnitus is not a documented side effect of these drugs. Atorvastatin may cause cranial nerve dysfunction so it the 8th nerve is involved tinnitus is possible. Some of them may cause vertigo. Sometimes vertigo is accompanied by tinnitus but the main symptom is vertigo.
Drugs that cause tinnitus include antibiotics (aminoglycosides, erythromycin, etc), diuretics (furosemide is a common offender particularly when injected as bolus), some antimalarials, some antidepressants and oncologic drugs. Aspirin may cause tinnitus but only at very high dosages (tinnitus is a symptom of aspirin poisoning).
Most of the times there is no clear cause for the tinnitus. Your doctor should eliminate the most important causes like acoustic neuroma and correctable causes like too much earwax in the ear canal. If a drug caused it, it may disappear or it may become permanent... time will tell. There is no documented effective treatment for it although ENT specialist usually try some regimens depending on the cause.
I hope it helps!
Kind Regards!
can't suggest an expert
Detailed Answer:
I couldn't suggest an expert for more than the obvious reason. The obvious reason is that I don't practice in XXXXXXX so I couldn't know the local experts. Besides that any ENT specialist should be able to investigate a case of tinnitus. This is a pretty common symptom for an ENT doctor and I don't see the need for a specialist, at least in the first visit. If a very rare disorder is revealed in the way then a specialist might provide additional help but at this point I don't see the need.
Best wishes for your health!
