Noted the history about a 61 year old male having the problems of tinnitus in left ear, consul;ted an ENT but no effect, difficult to interact with many people at a time it seems. Since you are 61 years old the commonest causes I can think about are one of the following: Acoustic injury. Infection of inner ear. Nerve problems with Vestibulocochlear nerve. Tumor at the CP angle and so on. Hence I would advise you the following: Consult your ENT Surgeon again for detailed history, clinical evaluation and investigations of Combo-study of CT and MRI of the ears. Audiometry. Investigations for thyroid, diabetes, kidney function. Once a proper diagnosis is done it may be possible to have symptomatic and specific treatment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
