Does Ovulation Test Work? Taking Clomid. Will It Work Now?
Question: Will an ovulation test work i have pod and they normaly don't work but,I'm taking clomid so should an ovulation test work now?
Hello
Thanks for your query.
I guess you meant to write that you have PCOD ( polycystic ovarian disease ).
Women with PCOD often have difficulty in ovulating, and clomid ( clomiphene citrate ) is supposed to help with that.
Clomid offers you an 80 percent chance of ovulating, usually within the first three months. Due to the ovulation boost, most women have a 50 percent chance of getting pregnant within the first six months of using Clomid.
However, this rate is affected by age, conditions like PCOD, body weight etc..
If you want to be hundred percent sure, then it is better to go in for follicular monitoring with transvaginal ultrasound in this cycle, rather than rely on ovulation tests.
Take care.
All the best.
