Does Pain In Little Finger Indicate Broken Bone?
Question: How do I know if my finger is broken? I play guitar professionally and recently the little finger has started to hurt during non-playing time. It hurts most when I bend it half way
and the first knuckle area has the most pain. Today I tried to practice and the pain
level increased. Does this sound like a broken bone, a sprain, or something else?

Hello

I have gone through your query and it does not looks to be a fracture as there are no sign of it.The signs are swelling, deformity, skin discoloration and there should be significant trauma.
The most likely it is sprain. Rest, hot water fomentation along with ibuprofen and trypsin/chymotrysin helps in reduction of pain and swelling.
Looking forward to your reply.
Take care
