I shall make an effort to provide you with good professional recommendations specific to your questions.
As I understand - your concerns:
1. Loss of balance in standing - Occurs due to reasons mainly due to the vestibular apparatus in the middle ear. There are certain tubes which have to be aligned well to give stability in standing. Evaluation of the ear by an ENT would help.
2. Weakness in left shoulder, arm and hands - Certainly related to the waxing and waning course typical of RA disease that you have. Though the tingling disappearance after carpal tunnel release, has no bearing on this, the changes in the joints and bones have impinged on the nerves hence, the pressure was cause in the first place. Similarly, the pathological processes occurring in the shoulder joint or the elbow might be related to these present problems you have. An evaluation of the RA factor and stage of the RA condition clinically would be essential for a symptom free life with RA, which your rheumatologist would tell you. Take all the care outlined for RA conditions, in case you are not. Weakness would improve with the right treatments for RA.
Let me know if I have missed out any other questions of yours.
Yet again, I duly appreciate your query to me, I do hope that you have found something useful to help you and I shall be glad to answer any further apprehensions.
Sincerely,
