Have Dermographism And PCOS. Not Able To Walk Due To Swelling. Trying To Lose Weight. Any Thoughts?

Question: My daughter has dermographism which prevents her from walking more than short distances before her feet swell up too painfully to continue. This severely limits her ability to exercise, and she is trying to lose weight, which is already very hard for her because of her PCOS. Any thoughts?

Dear,

Thanks for your query.

Dermographism on walking is suggestive of heat urticaria.

A combination of an anti histamine and mast cell stabiliser can help at times.

An increase in temperature due to the climate, exertion during walking, anxiety all can lead to such an episode.

Things turn better as soon as temperature decreases.

Please do write back in case you have follow up queries to ask.
