Have Woken Up With Sore Headache And Blurry Eye. Scalp Is Also Itchy And Sensitive. Suggest?

Over the past few weeks I have woken up with a very sore headache and a blurry right eye. This happens about every four days and started when my husband put our new dining table in our lounge that he had made and lacquered 6 times. I could smell the fumes quite badly. My scalp is also itchy and very sensitive on the same side.
I am humbled having this opportunity to address your query today. I hope together we would find possible causes to this problem and propose long lasting solutions.
From the information you have provided, the unilateral nature of these symptoms(headache, blurry right eye, itchy and sensitive scalp) associated with this smell of the product used to lacquered the dining table in this context raise the suspicion for migraine headaches. Unusual smells including perfume, paint thinner, secondhand smoke and others can trigger migraines in some people. I think this is the trigger in your case.
The first thing to do is to take this table out of the lounge or stay away from getting the smell so that the migraine episodes will not be triggered. This is going to be the most effective control measure. For now if the headaches are severe, you may want to try a pain reliever like acetaminophen. If these measures fail, then we may want to do a few more tests to make sure that there is no other abnormal finding that can explain this and also try some new medications.
I hope this addresses your query fully. If there are more related question that you have, please ask me as follow up questions and I will address them.
I wish you well on this and do update me as you start to apply these measures.
