How Does Conjunctivitis Differ From Broken Blood Vessels?
it usually resolves on its own
Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
Conjunctivitis is inflammation/infection of the eye. It can occur due to infection or allergies.
With infection there would be some discharge, the amount would vary. In viral infection, it is usually milder than bacterial.
With allergies, there is usually itching.
Subconjunctival hemorrhage, refers to bleeding in the eye. This appears to be the case for you based on the image.
In most persons, it resolves in approx 7 t0 14 days, color changes occur during that time (may become green or yellow).
There is no specific treatment though artificial tears are sometimes used, sometimes up to 4 times a day.
There are other causes of red eye, though not as common.
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
