Question: I had an abscessed cyst surgically removed from my inner thigh last week and have been changing the packing and dressing twice a day. How long will it take to heal and close up? The packing is very uncomfortable.

Hi Dear !! Thanks for your query to HCM.

Read and reviewed your query and feel concerned about your health issues.
I understood your health concerns as follows-
I am really concerned for your health concerns of pain/discomfort of packing in the exciesed cyst with abscess on the inner thigh.
Though more information from your side would be helpful in giving exact reply about how long it will take this wound to heal completely, My primary Impression on your reports first is as follows-

My Impression--Meaning of your health concerns-
Based on the information submitted in your query,
-My prima facie impression is as follows-
Based on size of the current wound you have,it may be another 10 -14 days,by which your wound would heal, provided proper packaging and antibiotic cover.
I mean by that, if the proper dressing is done under cover of expert doctor 2 times a week, this wound would heal as guessed above.

More details reply would be given after getting more details from you.
Please update more info if you want to know more on this reply.

More information please-
IS it the first time you had it ?
Update any history of diabetes- in your close family relation?
Update any blood sugar test reports done in the past / or lately during this illness?
Any other disease you have currently with this?
How long your hypothyroidism is known to you and treated?
How frequently you go for urination?

I would need more information about your past illnesses and any reports in past and currently done as asked above.

Welcome with more query in this regard.
