I have a scar on my leg. Basically on the front part of calf. The scar was caused due to waxing of a mosquito bite.Tried many ointments but not much of a use. Should I use betenesol ointsment for the scar? Will it help? My height is 153 cm, weight 70 kgs, have hypothyroidism and age is 24
You have scars on the front part of your calf. You want to lighten it. You have tried many ointments but are not effectively working. Derma E scar gel or Mederma scar cream plus SPF 30 if effective when applied on the affected area. Applying Betnovet C ointment on the affected area is also effective but it should be applied only at bed time.
Do not go into direct exposure to sunlight after applying it. In 10-12 days the scar will become lighter you should not apply it after that. You can also consult a dermatologist, you may be recommended chemical peels or laser therapy.
Since you suffer from hypothyroidism, get thyroid function (T3, T4, TSH) tests done once in every 3 months. Maintain healthy weight and stay away from addictions if any. Take care of your hygiene. Wear soft cotton clothes.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
