How Long Is Hospitalization Required Post A Laparoscopic Appendectomy?
Question: Appendicitis...son recently had a attack...sent to Emergency care..determined after scan that appendix need to be removed..Laparoscopic surgery done....feeling better ..had high bilirubin count and high liver enzymes...no narcottics given when should he be discharged...when is coast clear to go home and how long to return to next real life

Chances of complications are very less and he can return to normal days very soon. Narcotics(pain killers like opioids) are not needed. Elevated liver enzymes is not related to appendicitis. It could be due to coexisting viral hepatitis. You can consult a physician for elevated liver enzymes and jaundice.
