Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
I am Dr. Aarti, OB - GYN, and would like to assist you with your query.
The normal vaginal discharge varies during different stages of the menstrual cycle.
Immediately after your period ends, is the ' dry period '.
For 3 - 4 days after your period ends, the discharge is almost nil.
The next 3 - 4 days, the mucus starts increasing, it is thick, creamish and not much in amount.
this covers uptil day 9 - day 10 of your cycle.
After that the cervical mucus increases in amount.
During time of ovulation ( day 14 ), it is clear, stretchy, resembling raw egg white. This is ' fertile ' mucus.
AFter ovulation, it can remain clear and watery for a few days and then again reduces in amount and becomes thicker and creamish as your period approaches.
Then the cycle begins all over again.
HOpe this helped you.
All the best
Please feel free to discuss further.
