Question: I have a very stressful job, my little sister is going through chemo therapy and I'm a college student full time. I'm always on edge, almost fight or flight. I have to look after my grandma who suffers from alzheimiers, and it weighs heavy on my mind. Anything that can take a little edge off of the day to dat stresses would be greatly appreciated

Thanks for the query.
I can really understand your stress which you are facing everyday.It really becomes very stressful for a person and becomes very difficult to cope with it.
Now since this situation,in which you are in,can not be changed,it is better to face it with your extra effort and positive thinking.
Steps you can take are....
1... Do deep breathing exercises.
Here you do alternative nostril breathing in which you plug one nostril, breathe in slowly as deeply as you can and then cover the other nostril and breathe out. Repeat this as long as it is comfortable to do so. It should take less than ten minutes and you should find that any stress you were feeling at the start of the exercise has diminished.
2... Get up 15-20 minutes early in morning and go out for a brisk walk and be with nature.
3... Hear your favourite song.
4...If possible get a couple of minutes head massage by somebody in house.
5... Avoid smoking,alcohol and any drugs.
6... Drink plenty of water

These are few small steps which can make a huge difference to you,once you start following them.
