Hungry But Unable To Eat. Suggest Remedy
Question: My mother, born in 1930, states that she is hungry but unable to eat. When, in the past, I would take her from the nursing home to go out to eat, she would eat ravenously. Now she can only eat a little bit. She complains of want to to eat but of being unable to do so. She also complains of dizziness, usually without nausea; also of weakness. A nurse who visits her six days a week confirms that my mother is weaker. She does not take SSRIs due to the side effect of violence and horrible irritability. The chef in the facility is angry at me. Is it possible that my mother is being poisoned? additional info: cannot tolerate Erantz or Exelon. Anorexia-like symptoms as a little girl
Brief Answer:
Dementia most likely cause
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Poor appetite or inability to take more may be attributable to the following
1. Advancing age with brain changes. (dementia)
2. Psychiatric drugs and their long term effects.
Regarding the possibility of being poisoned it would be best to hire an investigating agency to detect it.
However I feel that the symptoms which you have described go strongly in favor of dementia as the primary cause.
Regards
