Is Baclofen Advisable When Diagnosed With Chronic Kidney Disease?

Question: My physician has prescribed Baclofen 5 mgs and I am reading the warnings and see that kidney disease is not compatible. I have chronic kidney disease stage 3. EGFR is 43. Should I not take the pill and contact the doctor tomorrow?
Brief Answer:
Use with caution
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking
i read your question and i understand your concern. With reduced renal functions and EGFR of 43, baclofen may still be tried but with caution and in low doses. Like usually it is taken as 5 mg three times a day and increased slowly upto 80 mg in a day, in kidney function compromised, dose should be minimum, like half tablet 2.5 mg thrice a day or 5 mg twice. Talk to yoru doctor and let them titrate the dose for you.
I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.
