Is Vimpat Intake Safe And Effective For Treatment Of Epilepsy?

Vimpat (lacosamide) is safe.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for posting your query.
I am glad to note his negative test results.
Vimpat (lacosamide) is a relatively newer anti-epileptic drug (AED) and I find it a safe and effective AED. I have mostly used it as an add-on drug (along with another AED) in a difficult to control epilepsy and it has worked in most cases.
I feel it may be better to start the drug, as a recurrence of seizure may cause him physical harm.
Although the drug has a good safety profile, we should closely watch for any adverse effects especially with regards to renal tubular acidosis or skin reactions (though I have not seen or heard of them yet).
We can wait for MRI.
I hope it helps.
Best wishes,
