Is A Rash On The Right Hip A Symptom Of Shingles?
Question: I have a rash on my right hip. It does not itch or hurt. What is it?
Brief Answer:
Contact dermatitis
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM wtih your health care concerns
You have a new rash on your hip non itching but red. From your images it appears that you have a contact dermatitis or an allergic reaction to something. I would recommend using a topical steroid cream like hydrocortisone 2-4 times daily to help heal the area. It should take about 1 week with treatment to resolve. This rash does not appear to be anything dangerous.
I hope I answered your question. Please contact us again if you have any additional questions

It is not shingles? My mother has shingles & I went to visit her last week.
Brief Answer:
Not shingles
Detailed Answer:
It is definitely not shingles. Shingles are very painful blister rash and your rash does not even compare to shingles outbreak. Also you can't get shingles from someone who has shingles. Shingles is actually caused from the chicken pox virus that reemerges at a time in your life when your immunity is low. So despite seeing your mother last week you did not and can not get shingles from her.
