Is Blood In Stool Suggestive Of Colon Cancer?
Question: I found blood in my tool today while preparing a stool sample for testing. How likely is it that it is colon cancer?
Brief Answer:
not likely but further tests are required
Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome to hcm.
Blood in stool can be sign of several things and colon cancer is one of it but this is not the first thing to think of. In most cases blood is seen in benign conditions such as hemorrhids, fissures, angyodsiplasia, polyps or inflammatory bowel diseases. But to rule out the worse especially in your age, you should do colonoscopy definitely. Wish you good health.
