Hello,
Your symptoms may be indicative of anal itching (
pruritus ani), a skin condition that affects your perianal area. It occurs due to poor hygiene,
allergy, side effects of certain food or drinks, etc. Irritation and itching may get worse at night or after a bowel movement. You should take care of your hygiene and wear cotton undies. Change the undies in the morning and evening. Take bath twice daily, clean the anal area with medicated soap.
You can apply
hydrocortisone cream on the area affected for relieve. You can also take antihistamine at bed time. Avoid touching or scratching the area affected. Other medical conditions that can cause similar symptoms are fungal infection/ yeast infection that is treated by
topical antifungal creams and by taking a course of anti fungal medicines orally.
Get clinically examined by a GP or a
Urologist to detect pin worms, hemorrhoids,
anal fissure, HPV or warts. Your treatment will depend on the pathology detected. In the meantime avoid taking spicy food, carbonated drinks, dairy products, acidic or spicy foods, etc.
Do not wear tight underwear. Tight underwear, underpants or pants can trap heat and sweat around your anus and this makes the itching worse. Get a repeat
colonoscopy done to examine the large bowel, the distal part of the small bowel and the anus. You will be accordingly treated.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
