Is Egg Yolk Bad For Health?
Question: Is egg yoke bad for health? Should we stop eating eggs if i am on weight loss program.
Brief Answer:
Avoid egg yolk..
Detailed Answer:
Greetings from Healthcaremagic.
In weight loss program, you may include egg white as its a source of protein. And avoid using egg yolk, they contains more fat. The caloric value of fat is high, meaning it will provide more calorie per gram. On the other hand consumption of egg white would give you satiety for a longer duration and avoid the hunger pangs.
If you wish to take yolks, you may include once or twice (1-2 yolk) per week. And egg yolk improves the HDL profile and lower the bad cholesterol.
Please feel free to ask any further queries.

Brief Answer:
Yolk not allowed in weight loss diet
Detailed Answer:
As discussed in the previous reply, egg yolk is full of fat. The reason for which yolk is not allowed in a WEIGHT LOSS DIET PLAN, is that one gram of fat provides approximately 9 kilo Calories. The weight of one large egg yolk is approximately 20 - 25 grams. This means that one egg yolk provides around 180 to 220 Calories. It therefore recommended that the consumption of egg yolks be limited while one is trying to lose weight.
But we cannot ignore the goodness of egg, while egg white is packed with quality protein, the yolk has many benefits too. As mentioned earlier it helps in improving the HDL ( good) cholesterol profile of blood and if you choose the Omega 3 enriched eggs, you even get this good fat ( omega 3) directly through yolk.
In other words, one cannot overlook the total calories that the yolk would add to your daily calorie consumption. Thus, it is recommended to restrict the use of egg yolk to once or twice a week, while you may have the whites daily, mostly for breakfast.
Hope I was able to clarify your doubts. If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask.
