Is Hand Pain Every Morning A Symptom Of Rheumatoid Arthritis?

default
Posted on Thu, 15 Sep 2016
Question: I began to have hand pain in the mornings, unable to grip. This got exponentially worse with a diverticulitis flare up. How do I differentiate Rhumatoid arthritis from Osteoarthritis?

My c-reactive protein was very high during the diverticulitis. I figured when that was healed, my hands would feel better......... Any connection to c-reactive protein and hand pain?

I appreciate your concern

Rheumatoid arthritis does involve the wrist and proximal interphalengeal joints but the involvement is symmetrical and not unilateral.
Osteoarthritis involves the distal interphalengeal joints, classically.

Kindly answer the following to advise accordingly.

Are both the wrists involved
Has anti ccp antibody test been done
Can you upload the ESR and crp results
