Is It Safe To Have Cataract Operation For Both Eyes With In A Gap Of 3-5 Days?

Question: Its for mothers cataract operation

She has gone thru the right eye operation five days back
she is diabetic , so to control it we are giving insulin to her
and its under control now

now to avoid again giving all diabetic control treatment we asked doctor that can we go for the left eye operation now it self the doctor says yes

so my query is whether it is safe now to go for contract operation of both the eyes in a weeks time ?
pls reply me asap
