Is It Safe To Resume Sexual Activity With History Of Miscarriage 3 Months Back?
Question: hello,
My wife had a miscarriage 3months back and doctor has given tablets for miscarriage and we had two times scanning and in that scan we found clots so doctor taken blood test and in that blood test it was clear
and then doctor told to use Ovral-l 21 tablets, we completed one Ovral-l 21 tablet and again we are taking one more 2nd set ovral-1 tablets as doctor suggested to take 2 more ovral pills set.
So should we use another ovral pill set more?
And also can we have sex now?

Brief Answer:
Can resume sex, please use contraception
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
You can definitely resume sexual activity if the miscarriage was 3 months back.
A follow up visit and follow up ultrasound scan should show that the uterine cavity is empty and the abortion is complete.
Blood test does not clarify whether the abortion is complete or not, only an ultrasound scan shows that.
Yes, if you want to avoid a pregnancy, and it should be avoided for 6 months following a miscarriage, please continue to use Ovral - 21 tablets, or else use an alternative method of contraception that suits you ( eg. Condoms ).
All the best
Please feel free to discuss further.

I would like to mention few more points about my wife..
She has irregular periods.
So after taking the Ovral L tablets for next few months will she get regular periods?
Now she is taking the second Ovral L tablet sheet and after taking the 3rd Set of Ovral L tablet will she get regular period without taking the Ovral L tablets?.
Also she is getting little pain in abdomen some times is any thing serious?
And also can we do sex by only condom at present?

Brief Answer:
As below
Detailed Answer:
As long as she takes Ovral L , she would get regular cycles.
After stopping them, there is no way to guarantee if she would get regular periods.
If she has persistent irregular periods, she needs hormonal evaluation and ultrasound scan plus Pap smear.
Yes, you can use condoms also.
Mild pain in abdomen occasionally is normal, dont worry.
