Is It Safe To Take Alocane For Discomfort Vagina During Post Menopause?
It's safe, please provide more information to establish a diagnosis
Detailed Answer:
Hello
I really appreciate your concern
As far as alocane is concerned it is safe and may relieve your symptoms as it has anaesthetic and soothing effects as well helps in healing.
Here I would like further information to find out the cause behind such symptoms like
Since how long you have this problem?
Do you have burning urine or increased frequency of urine
Relevant medical history like diabetes, liver or kidney disease?
In my opinion you should have plenty of fluids in the form of plain water, fruit juices, lemon water and keep yourself well hydrated
Passage of well diluted urine will flush off the urogenital tract and add on healing early.
Please revert back to me with details I have asked for, so that I will be able to tell you more accurately.
Best wishes
I am 53 years old and went through menopause in the last couple years. With that, I have experienced tightening of the right side of my hymen, causing pain and stinging during intercourse and if I stretch it in any way. The sensation radiates out, so is pretty annoying. I told my gynecologist about it during my annual pelvic exam. My exam was normal. She suggested that I use an Estring, which I have used for the last two months. I am not nearly as dry as I was before, but still feel some stinging and pain as mentioned above. I do not have a burning sensation with urine or increased frequency of urination (no UTI). I am in excellent health, am 5'7" tall, weigh 125 lbs, exercise (weight train) 4 times weekly, eat a very well-balanced & healthy diet, and my annual general physical was normal, including full blood testing and urinalysis. I just don't want to experience pain during sex or in that area in general, so thought alocane might help. Longer term, I'm wondering if there is anything else I can do to get rid of the stinging sensation & pain ... like possibly surgically removing the the hymen tissue. Not sure. Thanks for any further input you can provide.

Hello
Thanks for your reply
Looking at your detailed description and no signs of UTI, This could be related to drying effect of the vagina.
Lack of adequate lubrication during sex may cause inflammation due to friction and produce similar kind of symptoms like stretching and stinging sensation.
Since I can't physically examine you to get more clues so based on your history I would advise to consult gynaecologist in your own time for clinical examination and further course of action
In my opinion, use of any lubricant during sex will definitely help you
Best wishes
