Is It Safe To Take Nexium When Diagnosed With Pernicious Anemia?

Question: I have had Pernicious anemia (which is described as Atrophic)for about 20 years and receive B12 injections every 3 months.My doctor has prescribed Nexium to establish if I have reflux at night.Is Nexium safe to take with my condition?

I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern. You have atrophic gastritis and pernicious anemia.
Nexium contains esmoprazole. It is a proton pump inhibitor. It inhibites acid secretion in your stomach. It is totally safe in your condition. It should be taken before meal with empty stomach.

Continue your vitamin B12 supplements as prescribed.
