Is Missing A Dose Of IPV Vaccination A Cause For Concern?

This is XXXXXXX here. I have a baby boy born feb 15, 2016. Currently he is in XXXXXXX We have been regularly visiting the doctor and been given the required vaccination to him. But today, when we went for the next round of vaccination, we got to know from him(after some probing) that he has missed IPV last time and this time as well stating non availability as a reason. We will be getting him to XXXXXXX on monday and get him IPV vaccinated. I am concerned if this will cause a problem to his health since the doctor has not given the dose last time. Please advise. Attached are the vaccination schedule and given details.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome to health care magic, I share your concern and I will try to help you out in best possible way.
As per the recommended schedule.. Baby was supposed to get first second and third dose at 6th, 10th and 14th week respectively.. followed by a booster dose after 6 months.. since the first dose was missed, you go ahead and get 2nd dose in XXXXXXX and continue the schedule at 14 weeks and 18 weeks respectively. There is no need to worry as all the other recommended vaccines are given and there won't be any problem if one dose of IPV was skipped and even that dose can be given later.
Hope this clarifies your doubts. Revert back to me if you have follow up queries.
