Is Persistent Pain In Tail Bone A Cause For Concern?
![default](/r/images/default.png)
where I had to do alot of sitting and scooting. At that time I noticed my
tailbone was sore. Since then my dad has spend extended periods in the
hospital and I have done a lot of sitting on hard surfaces. Anyway, my
tailbone is very painful. I don't know it I should be concerned or if this
is somewhat normal. It is winter and I can't help but continue to do a lot
of sitting so it doesn't seem to get better. It doesn't hurt when I am
walking or moving around, just when I sit. I wonder if I should just buy
a seat cushion and wait it out a while longer?
Yes, get a sear cushion. It will help!
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.
I am so sorry to hear about this pain that you have reported. I have reviewed your information fully especially the pain, its nature, provoking and aggravating factors and the surrounding circumstances of onset. This is certainly related to the prolonged sitting. With continued sitting on hard surfaces, this pain is constantly provoked and prevents healing. Taking off weight from this area by using a cushion will be of great help. Also, take a combination of Tylenol and Ibuprofen each time you have a pain and this will be very helpful during the interim as we anticipate for complete recovery. I will only recommend further testing if this pain persists past 4weeks without any significant regression following the initiation of the above measures.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be. Above all, thanks for using our services.
